Detroit rocks, Phil’s rentals, and Darius helps a friend

Despite some on and off rain showers, the 27th annual Downtown Hoedown in Detroit entertained close to 1.5 million people from all over the country Friday, Saturday & Sunday. On the roster were Stephen Cochran, Jessica Harp, Jack Ingram, Luke Bryan, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Rodney Atkins, The Mulch Brothers, Bomshel, Eli Young Band, Trent Tomlinson, Lee Ann Womack, Darryl Worley, Josh Gracin, Phil Vassar,  Justin Moore, Trailer Choir, Jessica Andrews, Jason Michael Carroll, Zac Brown Band & Willie Nelson as well as many local Detroit acts. You can see pod casts and exclusive interviews at www.wycd.com

Phil Vassar is a very busy guy, but if he’s not touring with the kids he will loan his bus out to other friends. Lately The Police, Beyonce & Third Day. But don’t expect him to take it back damaged. He will inspect it!

The Eli Young Band was on Leno recently. While they were back stage Mike Eli was back stage talking to his dad on the phone when Jay walked in and took the phone to say hi! But s dad didn’t believe it was actually Jay Leno he was talking to till Leno talked about it on the show.

Trent Tomlinson is a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and like to model himself after the energy of his shows… he’s also be mistaken for Magician Chris Angel… but instead of getting upset over the mistaken identity, he’s actually learned a few magic tricks so he can continue the ‘illusion’.

June 19th Darius Rucker will do a fundraiser for the Castle Theater in Manchester, Iowa. The Castle Theater was built in 1935 and is a historical landmark in a small town in Iowa that will be turned over to the city and will need $20,000 to run. D.B., Ruckers Production manager is from Manchester so when he heard the story about his friends hometown, he quickly agreed to doing a benefit to help save the historical theater.
